When Children Pray

We’re wrapping up our kid-themed Miracle Mondays with this testimony from Sister Mary Ann Heaps regarding the children of the Forest Hills Branch, Florida, who, according to our sister, shake hands with the adults every Sunday, offer sweet testimonies thanking God, and are a blessing to everyone there.

Matthew 18:2-3: And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” In addition to this, I can add, “And little children’s prayers are sincere and will be answered.”

I was in a bad accident in February. The impact was very hard, causing damage to my neck, shoulders, and lower back. For three months, I suffered terrible pain. It hurt to walk, to stand, to sit and even when in bed. My life consisted of two to three doctor appointments daily on week days. My life belonged to treatments and doctor visits.

On a Monday morning, I struggled out of bed, and after a while, I decided to return to bed. I could no longer live with the pain. I was done! Finished! I gave up all hope. I could not tolerate more pain! After a couple of hours, I asked God to forgive me for giving up. I couldn’t give up because I knew He still had plans for me; however, I knew I could not travel or be useful in my present health.

I sent an email to the branch asking for prayers and immediately was added to the prayer list. Two days later was the first Wednesday of the month, and our branch holds the day in fasting and prayer, finishing the fast at the Wednesday night meeting. The children also pray in their class. Later, I was told they all prayed for me that evening. I felt blessed and truly humbled. I love our children, and each one is very special to me.

Does the Lord hear children’s prayers? You bet! I awoke in the morning without any pain in my body. That was over one month ago. God performed a miracle in my body. He also revealed He would take away other health issues. I’ve coughed with chronic bronchitis since a child. After three days of not coughing, I realized that God had taken it away.

Could this be happening? Yes, indeed, praise God. I am a living miracle, thank you, Jesus! And thank you, Jesus, for answering the prayers of our precious children in the Forest Hills Branch and the children throughout The Church of Jesus Christ. Indeed, if we become like little children, not only will we enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but He will perform miracles.

Such a beautiful experience!! And oh what a blessing!! Not only was it a blessing for you but for each of the children that prayed! How wonderful for them to see the effects of prayer and the joy that comes from the answering of a prayer.

Nothing to Fear
