The definition of “God Wink” is “a seemingly random, astonishing coincidence that is instead perceived as an event of divine origin or an answered prayer.”
We all have experienced God winks in our lives. We have witnessed His power, His love, and all the ways He shows us that He’s with us. Many of us have experienced dreams, visions, and hearing His voice. These are some of my favorite things to hear from others. I have a God wink I would like to share with you today. Our oldest son, Brother Lane Moore, left this week for the military. He joined the Army and started his basic training. This is a big change for him and for our family, but with God leading, His peace covers us all. Right before he left, I had given him a heartfelt letter I wrote. I just wanted to share a few things with him, as a mother, and how proud we are of him, as we are of all of our children. I wanted to find the perfect Bible verse to include in my letter, and I came across Psalm 34:4, which reads: “I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” After Lane left, my daughter and I went to the store. As we were nearing the end of our shopping trip, a lady came down the same aisle as us. She had a shirt on, and guess what verse was on it? Psalm 34:4, the exact verse! I immediately felt the Lord’s Spirit come over me and touch my heart. I had to hold back from bursting into tears right there. It was a moment God shared with me. A comfort He knew I needed at that very moment. I thought of how God orchestrated that day and how amazing He is. I thought about how this total stranger, who woke up that morning, and while getting dressed for the day, decided on wearing that specific shirt, not knowing that the Lord would plan my day so that this woman and I would cross each other’s paths and that I would see her shirt. At. The. Exact. Moment. Needed. God wink. I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes that says, “The same God that led me growing up is the same God that leads our children.” Amen. Thank you, Lord, for your love and your God winks. Click on the blue reply button and share an experience of how the Lord gave you comfort when you needed it! We would love to hear it! “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7) This article has undergone ministry review and approval.
