Today’s Good Word reminds us how important it is to see clearly. And you know we’re not talking glasses and contact lenses. We need our inner eye to be operating as close to 20/20 as possible.

What does that mean?

In order to have good spiritual vision, we need to start by — ready for it? — reading God’s word and praying for His help. (Those are the answers for everything, huh?)

Reading scripture helps us to know Jesus. Praying deepens our relationship with Him. Over time, He changes us to be more like Him — and one of those changes happens to our spiritual sight. We perceive the world around us differently.

Then, we begin to look beyond the here and now, and we’re inspired by a vision of the future. For many, it’s the hope of Zion and eventually eternal life in heaven.

Without this spiritual vision — our inner eye aligned with the heart of Christ for today and tomorrow — well, today’s scripture tells you where that road leads.
