We hope that yesterday you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with those closest to you. Chances are good that, at some point, you reflected on all the things you’re thankful for in life. Chances are good that those reflections made you feel happy and content.

Do you need more of that happiness and contentment every day of the year and not just on Thanksgiving? If you do, then try to “live in thanksgiving daily” as today’s Good Word encourages us to do.

How can you do that? Here are some ideas:

  • Thank at least one person per day, especially if it’s not something you’re accustomed to doing.
  • Each day, write down one thing that happened that you’re thankful for.
  • When you pray before sleep, start that prayer by thanking God for one specific thing.
  • Choose a scripture about gratitude to memorize, and practice it each day until you know it by heart.

What are some other ideas you can add to this list? If you’ve been feeling down lately, try one of these ideas every day for a month, and see how it changes your outlook and deepens your connection to God. If you try it, we’d love to hear about the result.
