Is There Anything Too Hard for the Lord?

by | Oct 14, 2021 | Poem/Short Story | 8 comments

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

He saved three Hebrew children from the fiery den.

He walked right beside them, no flames touched these men.

The king blessed their God who delivered again.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

He defeated an army with Gideon’s small band.

They didn’t need swords or weapons in hand.

The Lord turned the enemy on themselves in that land.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

He prepared young Esther to be a queen.

She risked her life asking the king to be seen.

The Lord had a plan to save the Jews and their seed.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

He chose Moses to deliver a people once bound.

By His powerful hand, He led Israel around.

He parted the sea, they walked on dry ground.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

He spoke through Abinadi, “Repent,” he would say.

They put him to death for his words on that day,

But Alma believed, and soon thousands obeyed.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

The Brother of Jared believed with his might.

God touched the stones, and they gave forth light,

To guide them to a Promised Land by faith, not by sight.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

The world today with its sickness and sin,

Steals our peace, raises doubt, creates fear within,

But the Lord God of all proves again and again,

There is NOTHING too hard for the Lord!
