Between the pandemic and the election, 2020 has been a different kind of year. We have seen a lot of fear, uncertainty, and anxiousness all around us. You see it on social media and the news, you hear people talking about it — it seems like it’s everywhere.

There’s one thing I know for sure.

God wins.

No matter what happens, we can rest assured in the promise that God has a plan. It’s bigger than any of us can imagine, and He knows exactly what He’s doing. Things must come to pass, and we have nothing to fear. We know that He will give us peace when we are afraid, uncertain, or anxious.

He tells us to “be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7)

One thing I have been doing more of this year is reading the scriptures. I read them every morning before I start my day. I used to think I was someone who read the scriptures often, but now that I have made it a priority to do it every day, I realize I wasn’t studying them as much as I should have been.

Life can get busy. We all know that. Wake up, work out, homeschool the kids, run errands, cook, clean, laundry and the list goes on (haha). Sometimes, it can get so busy that you wish there were more hours in the day! But, we can never be too busy to read His Word.

And, guess what has happened to me since reading His word daily?

I feel like I have more hours in my day! It’s amazing!

God blesses us for obeying Him and growing closer to Him. He knows exactly what we need, when we need it. He has truly blessed me with feeling like the days are longer and I’m accomplishing so much more.

Studying the scriptures and making more time for them is so important. You know that saying, “The more you read, the more you know”? Well, when I study God’s Word, it’s more like, “The more you read, the more He allows you to understand.” The scriptures come to life!

Now more than ever, we need to be studying His Word. The news, social media, and this world are full of lies. But, the Bible and Book of Mormon, are full of the TRUTH.

His Word wins. He wins.
