A Vision of God’s Protection

Today, we’re sharing the testimony of Brother Michael McGuire and how God protected him and his wife during Hurricane Irma.

A lot of people were telling us to evacuate to another area. Our next-door neighbor asked us three times to come with him to another person’s home who had room. He even called us and offered to bring us over there. Some thought we were crazy to stay.

Our home has “supposedly” hurricane-proof windows, so we weren’t installing storm shutters on them, and we’re located on the edge of a flood zone. Long story short, my wife and I were questioning the decision we made to stay. So, we did all we could to prepare for the storm.

We taped the windows to help with glass breakage. We put on the storm shutters we have for the sliding glass door. We blocked the front bedroom with a mattress. We put a board on the inside of one window in the living room and blocked the other with a love seat. We set up the dining room to sleep in because it doesn’t have windows. We put a piece of plywood on one master bedroom window. We gathered up all our coin collections and jewelry and put them in the car. We packed up some clothing for a few days if we had to make a run for it. We made sure we had batteries, water, ice, food that didn’t require cooking, hurricane lamps, and oil. We filled the tub with water. Checklist after checklist…

I prayed several times over several days to our God and Creator, vowing that we were putting our trust in our God and Savior. I can say He has heard my prayers and I can praise Him for His mercy and protection through the storm. We heard the winds blowing and gusting all around our home, but He protected us, placing a hedge around our home.

In a vision, I saw a wall like a hedge around my property and home about 4 feet tall, and angels posted, one in the North, one in the South, one in the East and one in the West. I cannot praise Him enough for the protection He has provided through this hurricane.

God is good all the time; all the time God is good.

On Monday, September 11, I got up for breakfast around 7:30 a.m., and after I sat down, I told my wife, Sister JoAnn, about the vision I had on Sunday. She cried and told me that she had a vision after she’d got up that morning around 5:30 a.m.

She looked out back through the slider and saw a hedge wall being raised up to the heavens and four angels ascending back up to heaven. The last angel stopped in midair, smiled, gave a thumbs up, and winked. He looked just like her father who had passed away when she was 11 years old, and that was a signal he had always given her — a wink and a thumbs up. Her vision was a good confirmation of mine the day before because she never even knew I had one.

God is good to all those who serve Him and He protects His own.
