Today’s Miracle Monday is the testimony of Brother Michael Watson, as told by his loving (and wordy) wife, Sister Michelle Watson.
My brother-in-law works for a company called Haven. Every year, Haven purchases a table at a fundraiser for the local hospital here in our small town. Haven usually doesn’t invite my brother-in-law to this fancy event. But, three years ago, two invitees couldn’t make it, and my brother-in-law and his wife (my sister) got to take their place.
My brother-in-law doesn’t like to dress up in a suit and tie, but he does like buffets, so he decided to accept. Plus, my sister does like to dress up.
When they arrived, they approached the registration table. “Name?” asked the worker. “We’re here in place of so-n-so,” he explained. “Company name, then?” asked the worker. “Haven,” said my brother-in-law. The worker handed them nametags and directed them to the Haven table. (Or so they thought.)
When they sat down at the table, they realized that they didn’t know a soul. “Hm, weird,” thought my brother-in-law. Eventually, he got to talking to the people he was sitting with, and he realized that they all worked for a company called Haydon. Not Haven. The registration worker must have misunderstood “Haven” for “Haydon” and placed them at the wrong table.
He quickly found out that Haydon is a construction company, a medium-sized company based in a big city, and they’d been working on projects for our local hospital for the past 10 consecutive years. This got my brother-in-law’s attention. He knew that I worked for a tiny, local construction company. He also remembered that I was not particularly happy at my place of employment. In fact, he’d been praying for my job situation to improve. He asked the Haydon folks if they were hiring. He got a business card.
My brother-in-law gave me the business card that same night. To my surprise, I recognized the name on the card! I’d worked with this man at my previous company years before. I called him that week and arranged a meeting. Long story short, Haydon hired me, and I just passed my three-year anniversary.
I live in an area with a population of around 15,000 people. Sizeable construction companies are not a dime a dozen here. The chances of getting employed by an established contractor, working on substantial building projects in my sphere of expertise (healthcare), and getting paid more, and also keeping my job through the ups and downs of the past year … well, how likely is that to happen? But God provided for me and my family way above anything we could’ve expected.
What are the chances that my brother-in-law got picked to go to an event where a name mixup got me a great job? I don’t believe it was coincidence. It was all God, and I want to praise Him.

Beautiful experience. I have heard of the term, God-incidence not coincidence. Thank you for sharing.
This story s a wonderful manifestation of God’s love. I love the term “God coincidence”, Bro George Katsaras from the Hollywood, Florida branch & the Miami-Homestead Mission.
