A Dreamy Church Meeting

There’s nothing quite like the love of the saints when we meet together for church on Sunday. Today’s Miracle Monday describes how Brother Chuck Maddox Jr. experienced that love even when he was a continent away.

In college, I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a semester. While there, I took classes, tried new food, and traveled around the countryside; nevertheless, being away from the body of Christ for that long was difficult.

I was especially homesick on one Saturday night. I started thinking about my family going to church the next day in Cincinnati, and I wished I could go with them. That night, I knelt down by my bed, like I had done numerous times before, but this time, I asked God to give me comfort as I slept.

While I was sleeping, I had a dream.

In my dream, I was sitting in the Cincinnati-Morrow Branch building during a Sunday service. I listened to the sermon, sang hymns, and even greeted the brothers and sisters after the service. When I woke up, I felt as if I had actually attended church.

We all know the feeling that only experiencing the love of God and the love of the brothers and sisters can bring, and I felt that on Sunday morning, even though I was thousands of miles away from the body of Christ. God watched over me throughout my time in Argentina, and I will never forget the love I felt in my dream of attending a church service far, far away.

March Theme: Angels in Disguise

Next month, we want to hear about how God sent an “angel” to help you in a time of need. This can mean an actual heavenly being, or it can mean a person who God used to help you at the right place, right time. Click here to share your story, and we’re looking forward to thanking God for it.

What a beautiful experience! I don’t know if you expected that type of comfort but it always amazes me how wonderfully and perfectly God answers our prayers. Thank you for sharing!
