Today’s Good Word inspires us to take inventory of the major influences in our lives and ask, “Does this thing invite and entice me to do good and love and serve God?”
If the answer is no, then we should rethink that thing and probably get rid of its influence on us.
One area of life where negative influences easily creep in is recreation and entertainment. We don’t go looking for ungodly TV shows, songs, and videos or time-wasting distractions — they find us! The question is whether or not we open the door to these things.
Think about other areas of your life, too.
- Relationships, friendships
- Career, school
- Health decisions
- Attitude choices
- Finances
Let’s make an effort to prune away the things that keep us from loving and serving God and keeping His commandments!
