Christmas is in full swing. The hum of carols and the aroma of cookies fill the air, and our eyes are constantly drawn to sparkling decorations and glowing lights. We’re more than a little distracted by all the trimmings.
With so many things to look at, let’s not forget to behold the greatest thing the season has to offer — the Lamb of God who was born into the world to redeem the world from sin.
Every time your eye catches on a glittering Christmas tree, think about how Christ offered Himself on Calvary’s tree. When you see a beautifully wrapped present, think about the gift of redemption that Jesus gave to the world. When you eat something sweet, remember the fruit of the tree of life and how delicious it is.
If we allow everything about Christmas to draw us to Christ instead of distract us from Christ, then we can truly experience the spirit of the season.
