Today’s Good Word is from the third chapter of James, and it describes God’s holy wisdom.

We sometimes think that in order to be wise we have to also become somewhat jaded and hardened to life’s dark side. But this verse reminds us that God’s wisdom is pure, peaceful, gentle, submissive, merciful, and fruitful. It’s a budding branch, not a withered vine.

This verse also says that wisdom is impartial. So, God’s wise ways don’t benefit one group of people over another, and His standards aren’t easier for some to keep than others.

Lastly, wisdom is sincere and genuine. God’s ways don’t contradict one another or set up double-standards.

Let’s thank God for His awesome wisdom and pray that He’ll give us understanding so that we can receive the pieces of wisdom we need to keep our faith strong and point others to Christ.
