Spread the Good Word: Isaiah 9:6

As we transition into Christmas week, we continue to highlight scriptures on our Good Word theme of “Wonder,” especially this famous prophecy from Isaiah. It predicted that one of the Messiah’s names would be Wonderful.

Anyone who cast a passing glance at Jesus on earth might beg to differ. He was a poor carpenter and itinerant teacher. Not of notable birth. Not comely in appearance or manners. Wonderful?

Anyone who was privileged enough to feel the effect of Jesus’s ministry on earth would wholeheartedly affirm His title. Everything marvelous about the man came from inside. Forgiveness, wisdom, and supernatural power.

We hope that, from the depths of your heart, you can call His name Wonderful this Christmas. Even if things aren’t going right in your life, even if you’ve been low in spirit, even if you’re mired in the tedious and the mundane, we hope that the name of Jesus Christ fills your soul with wonder.

Brothers and sisters, I want to tell you that on Friday, I was driving home from an extremely difficult situation when out of no where, I started to sing “His name is wonderful”. I got home and went to sleep. When I woke in the am, I was going through my emails and low and behold, this article.
Praise God and may you have a blessed holiday.
