It’s very fashionable to take the wisdom of the ages and toss it out the window. Conventional truths that have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation used to command respect, but now, many people laugh at those truths and call them outdated.

Despite this, God’s counsel still stands, still proves itself true, still remains faithful to its original meaning and intent. The next time a godly mentor says, “I’m going to give you an old-fashioned piece of advice…” you might do well to open your ears to listen.
