Omniscient. All-knowing. All-seeing. Sometimes I think it would be nice if I could use those words to describe myself. There have been countless times that I’ve thought, “Man, I wish I had all the answers.” Have you ever wished that?

Where should I go to school? Who am I going to marry? Will I ever find a job? Is moving the best decision for my family? What treatment plan will work best for me?

It would be so convenient to ask these questions and immediately know the answer. I could glide right through life without a care in the world. I would always know the right thing to do, the right path to take. There would be no need for second-guessing, no need for pondering, no pros-and-cons lists, no sleepless nights.

But alas, I don’t have all the answers. In fact, there’s a lot I don’t know. A LOT. And as someone who likes to plan ahead, it’s hard for me not to have those answers. I tend to dwell on and stress about the consequences of making a wrong decision. Fortunately, I know someone who knows the outcome of every decision I make before I make it, someone who wants to guide me down a path He already has planned out for me.

You know Him too, and fortunately for us, He has all the answers.

God knows it all.

He knows our struggles; He struggled when He came to Earth and took on flesh.

He knows our joys; He’s rejoiced along with us in our happiest moments.

He knows the answers to our most serious and absolute silliest questions.

To obtain those answers, all we have to do is ask! (Matthew 7:7-8) It is so comforting to know that we don’t have to face any decision alone. We are so blessed to be able to rely on God’s knowledge and wisdom, knowing He has the answers we’re searching for even before we ask.

Omniscient. All-knowing. All-seeing. Those words describe my God, and that’s all I need to know.
