When we feel afraid…focus on HIM.
When we feel uncertain…focus on HIM.
When we feel anxious…focus on HIM.
When life gets heavy…focus on HIM.
When Satan tries to whisper fear…focus on HIM.

With everything that’s going on right now, the human in us can start to feel afraid. But, we know that all things are in God’s control. We know that we must stay prayerful and faithful and trust in Him always. No matter what.

A few years ago, I had a dream I want to share with you.

In this dream, I saw myself running in the woods. I kept looking over my shoulder and knew that three men were chasing me. I was afraid. I kept running, trying to stay away from the evil that was following me. I came across an open area in the woods, and I saw the late Brother Phil Jackson standing there. I knew in my dream that he had already passed away. I ran to him, and he looked so happy and healthy. (There’s always a special glow, almost angelic, when we see loved ones in dreams.) I was out of breath, and I grabbed onto him and said, “Brother Phil! Brother Phil! Help me! There are men chasing me!”

He looked at me and calmly said, “Hold my hands, and look at me.” As I grabbed his hands, I could hear the men getting closer, and I was still frightened. I said, “They’re coming!” He told me calmly again, “Hold my hands, and look at me.” I did.

As the men drew closer, I continued staying focused on Brother Phil, and these men ran circles all around us, searching for me. They never saw me. I stayed focused and those men did not see me. And I woke up.

God showed me that when we are afraid and evil is all around, stay focused on Him. Stay focused on His Gospel. Stay focused on the good. Stay focused on His Spirit, and evil can’t find us. And if it does, with our faith in God, we know He will help us through. He is always there; we just need to reach out and stay focused.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:8)
