Our 10-year-old daughter, Audrey, recently had a vision while staying at my in-laws’ house. I love that God gives us experiences that fit us perfectly. Her vision was made just for a child. It was so precious and touched my heart so much that I wanted to share it with you.
While our children were with my in-laws for the weekend, they had a bonfire outside. Audrey said she thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye, like a bright light, so she looked over in that direction. She said she saw a bright light in the woods, and that my dad, the late Brother Tim Capone, was sitting on the ground in that light. He was dressed all in white and had big angel wings, and she could see half of him around the edge of a tree. She said he smiled at her and was holding an orange balloon … and then, he was gone.
Audrey told me, “It happened so fast, mom, but it was him. He was smiling, and he was holding an orange balloon. I knew that balloon was one I had sent up to him in heaven.”
My dad passed away 10 years ago. Audrey was 6 months old and never knew my dad. That orange balloon he was holding? Every year on his birthday I would buy a balloon for the kids to “send a message” up to heaven for Grampa. They were so young when he died that this was one way we celebrated him being in heaven. We would write “I love you” on it, and the kids always enjoyed doing that. Audrey remembered that balloon he was holding.
That balloon represented those years that we did that. It made me cry. That vision was so perfect and precious for a child. It was a reminder that, in a way, my dad watches our children. This is the Lord’s work and God is working in our kids’ hearts. Audrey told me after she had the vision that it made her cry. She said, “I don’t know why it made me cry, but it did. My heart felt so weird and it felt like there were a bunch of butterflies in it.” Our 11-year-old son spoke up and said, “Audrey, that was God touching your heart.”
Why yes … yes, it was.
“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children.” Isaiah 54:13

SORRY-just saw I received an e-mail from Jerry; didn’t know that was today’s devotional! Didn’t use to come that way-via Jerry.
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing – and YES your dad probably has an entire handful of balloons that he’s collected over the years!
Oh wow!! What a precious experience!! As much as that experience for your precious daughter, I think it was for you as well. It says a lot that she recognized that she felt something different in her heart. I SO LOVE THIS! Thank you for sharing!
