Where to Find the Best Life Hacks

by | Aug 10, 2021 | Devotional | 6 comments

I recently got a book that my sister recommended called, “Life Hacks,” and it’s really amazing. It’s filled with simple solutions to everyday problems. Looking for ways to get rid of itchy mosquito bites? Need tips on how to unclog your drain? How to get rid of rust? “Life Hacks” has the answers!

The book is full of great tips! Did you know that eating cucumbers can help soothe a sore throat? Or, that you can freeze toothpaste to easily remove crayon marks from walls? How about soaking a cotton ball in vinegar to apply on a bruise, and help it diminish in color?

The book’s introduction says that it’s “the most helpful book on the face of this planet” and that “your life is about to change forever.” Now, I know that they’re just implying that this is a fantastically helpful book in many common scenarios.

But, it also made me think…

What if people looked at the scriptures this same way? What if the world could see that God’s Word is full of “life hacks”? That the Bible and Book of Mormon are the most helpful books on the planet, and they have the power to change your life forever?

God’s Word is full of answers to everyday problems and is fantastically helpful in many common scenarios.

Feeling afraid? “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Worried about something? Matthew 11:29 says, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your souls.”

Hanging out with a bad influence? “Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.” (Proverbs 22:24,25)

Filling your mind with ungodly thoughts? Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

You get my point. My helpful “Life Hacks” book is pretty awesome…but, my LIFE Hacks books (the Bible and Book of Mormon) are even more awesome.

They’re full of so many life-changing words. Words of peace and comfort. Words to heal a broken heart. Words to breathe life into us. Words of truth and words of love.

The next time you’re looking for life’s answers, go to the LIFE Hacks of God’s Word first…because they are the best books on the face of this planet.

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
