We know that our strength is in the Lord. How do we find this strength?
It is found in prayer, fasting, reading the scriptures, going to church, fellowshipping with His people, singing songs of praise, etc. All glory to Him and in Him, we find our daily strength and peace.
As we look around at what’s happening in our world, I find myself seeking more peace from the Lord. Ultimately, I believe that is also a sign of needing to completely trust Him more than I already do.
What other things bring peace (and strength) from the Lord that fills the soul?
For me, it’s reading experiences from God’s people. I love to read them, hear about them, witness them, and experience them myself! It makes me feel even closer to God because it seems so personal when He reaches out and shares a piece of Himself with us.
It’s a little food for our soul.
When I was younger, I remember always listening to testimonies and being so intrigued when experiences were shared. I loved hearing how God blessed someone, gave them a dream, revealed a vision, or answered their prayers. It brought such peace to me, even as a child.
I remember hearing a story of my grandmother, and I don’t remember all the details, but this experience always stood out to me when I was a kid. She was taking a walk and a man came down a hill. She knew by the way he was acting that something wasn’t right. She rebuked him, and he turned around and went back up the hill.
That experience (and knowing the faith she had when she rebuked him) was so amazing to me. Her strength came from the Lord. And hearing that experience gave me strength.
Share your experiences with others. Share your testimonies and your love for God! You never know whose heart you will touch, or the strength someone will get from hearing it. It doesn’t matter if someone is young or old, baptized or not baptized, we all gain strength from hearing the ways that God has shown something…its food for all of our souls!
