When the Waters Get Deep, Let Your Trust Get Stronger

Today’s article written by Brother Giovanni Lind is part of our Friday guest column hosted by the young people from the Lake Worth Branch, Florida.

Many times, things happen where we simply just don’t know what to do. But that’s OK! God doesn’t always expect us to know what to do.

For example, you are doing your thing, and suddenly you get a call that you have been fired. You don’t know what to do at that moment except to start stressing about the bills that need to be paid or the student loans that you still owe.

But God has put this obstacle in your life for a reason!

As it says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Who knows, maybe He put this obstacle in your life to prepare you for an even bigger job that He has in store. He puts obstacles in our lives to assist Him in executing His amazing plan for us!

For example, in the last year, both of my great-grandparents passed away. But I still thank God because they are in eternal paradise, and it made me want to strive for what I love and to do everything to the fullest.

I had to put my trust in God that I would still be able to do all the things I did before and not fall into a state of darkness or sadness. I pray every night that I will wake up and have the same strength to do my everyday tasks as I did before.

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.” (Psalm 5:11)

Putting our trust in God will do many wonderful things for us. It will make us appreciate our entities and surrounding areas much more!

But what if you put your trust in God, but still have more questions?

I understand how it feels to always want to be in control and to always want to know everything. This is just human nature. As humans, I’m sure we constantly find ourselves asking “Why, God, why?” or “When, God, when?” We always want to know how everything is going to work out right away. But that’s where we go wrong!

When we put our full trust in God, then we have to get comfortable with not knowing everything, not knowing how God is going to accomplish what needs to be done, and not knowing when He will do it.

Instead, He wants to guide us in everything!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-8)

God does certain things because He knows it will benefit us. We just have to plant our roots deep and trust in God!

Next Friday: Sister Gabrielle Jasmin writes to us about ten ways we can love others.

Proverbs 3:5,6. Is one of my favorite verses. Yet, it amazes me how I still
doubt, question, & over think things; even though the Lord has always taken care of me. Please forgive me Lord & Thank you Lord for this wonderful reminder to always-trust in you more.
