Today’s Good Word reminds us of a past article by Sister Linda Scolaro that defines the word “buckler,” which is a small shield used in combination with a sword in battle. It’s interesting that this verse in Psalms 18 references the word of the Lord, which is famously compared to a sword in Ephesians 6.
If you feel like you’re in a battle, remember that the sword of the Spirit — God’s Word — has seen many, many battles and come out on the winning side of them all. And God Himself will play defense for us, protecting us when we trust Him with our struggles.
We also want to wish you a very blessed Mother’s Day this weekend! We hope that you honor women at every stage of motherhood and grandmotherhood, paying special attention to those who are grieving the loss of a mother, remembering the loss of a child, or wondering when they’ll get the chance to become a mother.

Thank you for reminding me of God’s promises. I am striving to be more than a conqueror as the enemy tries to defeat me. Today’s good word is just what I need today!
