Youth in Action Field Journal: Day 5
Today we're wrapping up our Spartanburg YIA field journals. If you enjoyed this, please leave a comment of encouragement at the bottom of this article for the young people. And another huge shout-out to Sister Alyssa Maddox who stepped up and coordinated this for us by recruiting participants to write for each day. God bless you all!

Today's Thought Provoker
Throughout the week, Brother Harold has been enforcing the YIA theme of "Make Me a Blessing," and on the last day of YIA, we were surprisingly able to be a blessing to one of our own. We began our "day off" by meeting at Brother Harold Littlejohn's house for breakfast, and then we all piled into the big white van for an hour road trip to Chimney Rock, North Carolina. Once there, half of the group spent the day in the small town shopping, eating, and enjoying the southern hospitality of the small town, while the other half decided to go hike the mountain.
We were all pretty excited about being able to take the hike as a group. Sister Shannon Hamet has a fear of heights but bravely took the hike with the group. Once we got to the viewpoint area, I noticed that she seemed petrified, but I was so proud that she made it so far and didn't turn back. She faced her fear. Later, I found out that everyone had been encouraging her the whole way up the mountain. It was great to see how God not only used us to be a blessing to the community throughout the week but also to be a blessing to a member of own church.
