What Jesus Did for Me
In light of the New Year, I'd like to share a take on one of the "resolutions" I've come up with for myself. This year, my focus is to work on understanding and to always remember what exactly Jesus did not just for me, but to me as well.
So, right now, I want you to picture the New Year's ball that drops in New York City. It's over 1,000 pounds, has a diameter of 6 feet, and reflects innumerable dazzling colors. It's pretty amazing.
Before I met Jesus, that was my life. My life was pretty great, (or so I thought.)
Then the ball dropped, and instead of it stopping on the way down, it fell to the ground with a resounding BOOM! waking me up to the spiritual reality around me.
You see, Jesus wrecked
He shattered it to pieces.
Everything that I wanted to do and become before I met Jesus is different and changed now.
But would you like to know what the best part is?
He picked up all those little shards of glass one by one and put them back together to make something more beautiful than I ever could have dreamed of. If my life was the New Year's ball three years ago, this is my life now: a colorful, elegant piece that my Savior put together himself.
Jesus changed me in so many ways that I haven't found out or can't understand yet, and to me, that's spectacular. This year, however, my prayer is that we all continue to focus on how much Jesus changed us from who we were before and what we can do for Him now.
