Spread the Good Word: 1 Corinthians 4:15
In honor of Father's Day this weekend, we're sharing 1 Corinthians 4:15, in which the Apostle Paul draws a distinction between instructors and fathers.
An instructor is someone who teaches something. A father is an instructor, but he is also so much more.
Many of us know what it's like to learn from someone whose primary goal is to convey knowledge — to make sure it gets from their brain to our brain.
And many of us know what it's like to learn from someone whose primary goal is our overall growth and development. When fathers teach, they make sure that the information gets from point A to B, but they also ensure that the knowledge enriches or changes us in some way.
God is the perfect father, and we hope He gets lots of honor on Sunday. We're also looking forward to thanking our natural and spiritual fathers for being more than instructors.
