Sometimes, I need a refresher. I don't know about you, but life is coming at me full tilt. If life could speak, it would scream right in my face, "Here I am, and I ain't stoppin'!"
Thankfully, life does not speak, let alone scream. I know that this world is moving rapidly, as the Song of Zion says, and it just keeps gaining speed.
So, what now? What am I to do in the face of life's intensity as a follower of the most High God?
As I said in the beginning, I need a refresher from time to time. Actually, every moment of every day I need to be reminded and renewed. Romans 12:2 says, "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind."
How can someone get a brand new mind? That's not possible by Apple's standards or even Samsung. They can come out with the most up-to-date technology known to man, but they can't explain a renewed mind.
Life makes our knees weak because, quite simply, when I try all on my own, I fail. That's why I can't forget that God will "make weak things become strong" if I humble myself and submit to the Father (Ether 12:27).
When my knees become weak, it's natural to fall, so why not, while I'm down on my knees, pray and ask the Lord to renew my mind and spirit?
The Spirit of God has been given for comfort. Christ promised, "He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever" (John 14:16). And what does the Comforter do? Just a little bit further in that chapter, Christ says, "The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance" (John 14:26).
The Spirit of God leads, guides and implores to remember what's been given when life's earsplitting noises try to shake us. How wonderful is that? Enos listened for the Lord's voice, and guess what happened to him? After he heard the voice of the Lord, his faith "began to be unshaken" (Enos 1:11). I need to make sure I'm listening. I need to renew my mind and remember the Holy Ghost will speak to me. When the Lord sees my efforts, He blesses me beyond description, and I know He'll bless you, too.
Don't be discouraged. Remember the Comforter that God has given!
