Prayers, Hand in Hand
Today, we're bringing you the first of our thankful-themed Miracle Mondays. Here, Sister Suzanne Beeman shares a testimony in honor of Sister Doreen Perri. Enjoy!
Anyone who has met Brother Rob or me has heard us gush about our miracle son, Jordan Beeman. Jordan was my fifth pregnancy and our only child.
My entire pregnancy was blessed due to God’s grace, the laying on of hands, and the prayers of the saints. The goal for the pregnancy was to reach 24 weeks. There were three episodes where I thought I miscarried … again. Another blessing was that Jordan’s kidney condition was diagnosed prior to birth, which I have no doubt saved him from suffering and, worse, losing a kidney.
Due to complications, the doctors decided that our baby was to be born on May 1. After 15 hours waiting for an available operating room, the doctors decided to wait another day. Rob’s and my heart sank, and we were scared for our child.
Brother Nick Boruch was the first of so many phone calls that night. For two hours straight, calls from the saints poured into my hospital room. I would hang up, and the phone would ring immediately with another saint — from five different branches — everyone saying that they were praying for us. The next evening, Jordan was born at week 31. After a couple weeks in the NICU, our Jordan came home a healthy, happy and blessed little boy. And Jordan has been a blessing every day since.
Sister Doreen Perri and I met for the first time about two or three years later. When I introduced myself to Sister Doreen, she enveloped me in a huge hug. I remember her saying, “It is so nice to meet an answered prayer. I didn’t know you, but I remember praying for you and your baby.” This truly touched my heart.
Sister Doreen made me realize how important it is to take time to pray for all in need, not just for the people you know. And I, too, have had the blessing and pleasure of meeting answered prayers. Thank God. Thank you, Sister Doreen, for that gift.
Next month, we'd love to hear about anything the Lord has done for you involving the Christmas season. Is there a particular blessing or miracle in your life that you always remember around Christmas or that happened on a previous Christmas? Click here to tell us about it.
Dare to Share Verse of the Day
1 Cor. 15:55-57 - O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
