Peace in the Midst of the Storm

Our present-day world is filled with division and strife, malice and hatred, lying and dishonesty, immorality and shamelessness — a lost world of uncertainty such as we have never experienced.

The perplexity of this present day filters down into our individual lives, bringing storms of problems, fear, anxiety, doubt, confusion ... We are tossed to and fro in an ever-changing world with little or no relief on the horizon of time.

The disciples of Jesus Christ faced a real-life threat while crossing the Sea of Galilee with Jesus on board. A great storm arose and their little ship was in great peril. They were tossed to and fro by a huge tempest. As the storm raged, Jesus slept in the rear of the ship on a pillow. The disciples came to Jesus and woke him stating, "Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." (Mark 4:38-39)

In the midst of this tumultuous time of life, Jesus Christ is able to calm the storm in your life and in mine. The love that our Lord has for each of us is beyond our comprehension. His promises are sure and steadfast. The Word of God is truth now and forevermore, and within it there is an offering to each individual, a life of peace and safety, a life of joy and happiness, a life of hope and blessings — if we will awaken Him to save us from this tempestuous time of stormy darkness and confusion.

How do we awaken Jesus Christ in our life that He may calm our stormy sea? If we cry out to Him in contrite prayer, He will hear us. Our sincere prayer is absolutely necessary. The ear of the Lord is tuned to the broken-hearted plea of those who will reach out to Him in faith.

Can it be so simple? Yes! Because of God's Great Love for us! He loves us!

So, if you feel that you are drowning and unable to save yourself, call out to Jesus Christ and you will feel His Arm of Strength pull you from the swelling deep!

God bless you brother David. Inspiring words that I will share with my 39 year old niece who has 4 melanomas. The only hope is the Lord. Praying for you.
