Look Up

Look Up

Think back to when you were a young child. Did you ever have moments that you felt insecure? Not good enough? Compared yourself to others? Now, fast forward to where you are today. Has that changed? Or, do you still have those moments?

We can all relate. I believe we have each experienced that feeling at some point in life. Not just as a child either, but as adults too. Who do you think is whispering that thought into your heart and mind? That’s right, the evil one.

If you ever feel this way, then think about this...

The evil one WANTS us to believe those things. He wants us to feel unworthy, insecure, discouraged, and not good enough. He wants us to feel bad about who we are, how we look, and what we've done (or not done). He is pleased when we compare ourselves to others. He whispers more lies into our ears.

“Look at that other person over there. They are beautiful, handsome, talented and better than you.” Lies. “They can run faster, dress better, and are smarter than you.” More lies. We need to rebuke those thoughts out of our minds and not let the evil one think for one minute that he is winning. Those are all lies. Every single one of them.

What do we do when we are at this point?

Look up.

That is where our true confidence is found. In Him, Christ, the One who created us. He created us in His image. He loves us more that we can comprehend. He gave us life. He gave us purpose. Our true confidence is found in Him because He gave us our worth. We are worthy — because of Him. We are loved — because of Him. We are enough — because of Him.

We don’t need to look to man to find confidence and self-worth. We already have it. It was given to us the day the Lord created us.

I know there are many who feel down due to comparison. The next time the evil one whispers lies in our ears, let's look up and know that our confidence is found within — because of Him.

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” (Proverbs 3:26)

Thank you, sister...It's only when I trust in man, meaning family, friends, doctors, attorneys, etc. ,that the author of lies begins his work...there are Godly doctors and Godly attorneys, so please forgive if ive offended...when I depend on others, trust others just bc they're family, friends, or professionals, before trusting the Master, befote asking for His help, He is patient and keeps holdong on, keeping me safe, while teaching and/or REMINDING me, to LET HIM BE MY CONFIDENCE!!! You ate an eloquent communicator....and God Bless you in your calling as wife, mother, and homeschooling mama!!!
