Kids' Question of the Month – December

Little baby
I am a poor boy too
I have no gift to bring
That's fit to give our king…
Shall I play for you?
Mary nodded
The ox and lamb kept time
I played my drum for him
I played my best for him…

Pa rum pa pum pum… rum pa pum pum.

Doesn’t the beat of this classic Christmas carol echo the beat in all our hearts? Because isn’t there a little drummer boy in all of us? The moment when we recognize our own poverty in stark contrast to the magnificence of Jesus? We understand our nothingness, emptiness, and inability to ever offer Him anything worthy or fit for a king. Yet when we offer Him the best of ourselves, He accepts it and magnifies the gifts we bring as only He can do.

This month, we asked our kids this question: What gift do you think Jesus would like from you this Christmas? Enjoy their responses and photos!

if you ever want to know the truth, just ask a child. Trust me, I am surrounded by them every day in my job as a Reading Specialist in an elementary school. The answers of our church children are very wise.

I think my favorite response is this one: A cake that says "Jesus, I love you!"
