Chief Meteorologist, Jesus Christ

If Jesus hadn’t been the son of a carpenter with a fondness for woodworking, I like to think he’d have worked for the National Weather Service. Our Lord seemed to particularly enjoy using His creation — anything involving the weather — to His advantage. In His perfect way, the Master Weatherman helped those of His day (and us today) understand life’s spiritual lessons:

Did We Ever Wonder Who Was in Charge?

Psalm 147:8; 148:8

Clouds, rain, hail, snow – Jesus Christ is the Chief Meteorologist.

He Controls the Wind

Matthew 8:26-27

When His disciples were on a ship, fearful of the storm approaching, Jesus calmed the stormy skies and wind. The disciples’ response? “...the men marveled, saying, ‘What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!’”

And the Wind Isn’t Just for Blowing

John 3:8

Want to understand what the Holy Spirit is like? Just listen to the wind and experience its breeze. We may not see it, but we certainly feel it.

It Takes Both Rain and Sunshine to Make a Rainbow

Matthew 5:45; 6:33

The Lord was very clear about following Him: “he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Just because we choose to walk on His path doesn’t mean we are exempt from difficult times. But, we also know what He promised us. As one of our Songs of Zion says, “Jesus said behind the clouds the sun is always shining; He said our darkest days would have the brightest silver lining.”

He Never Breaks a Promise

Genesis 9:14-16

Perhaps one of the most beautiful displays of His love for us was His creation of the rainbow. Sure, it’s pretty in the sky, but what it signifies means the world to us. He promised to “remember His covenant” and that He’d keep His word. What’s better than that?

I really enjoyed this article Sister. When I seen the title, I immediately thought of JESUS giving weather updates on Channel 7 News Or something like that, lol. Great examples for us to learn by. Thank you.
