Bills, Bills Go Away
Today, we're kicking off our month of money-related Miracle Mondays. Sister Megan Garcia relates this month's first experience.
My husband and I had been fortunate throughout our marriage never to have to live paycheck to paycheck. Money was faithfully put into a savings account, and bills were always paid at least a week before the due date. That was until my husband, our sole provider, unexpectedly lost his job. We immediately cut back where we could and took extra care to buy only necessities and at the lowest price we could find.
Each morning, I would pray while looking out my kitchen window at the birds and reminding myself of God's promise, "take no thought, saying What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ... for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things" (Matthew 6:31-32).
The day finally arrived when our savings had been exhausted, and the amount left in our checking was far less than the amount that was due (in less than a week) on our next bill.
That afternoon, I walked out to get the mail and opened up an envelope with a check enclosed for a substantial amount because of a class action suit that had been settled on baby formula that I had purchased for our daughter five years prior. I actually laughed out loud, thinking about how many things God had set in motion so many years ago so that on this particular day we would receive this check that we so desperately needed. It was enough to pay our next bill!
As I continued going through the mail, however, I couldn't believe what I found! We received three more checks from insurance companies and hospitals that we had apparently overpaid at some point. God didn't just provide what we needed for that week but enough so that we could pay our bills for the entire next month. He always arrives at the perfect time!

Is your branch cooking up something special for Christmas? A program? A choir? A recitation? Please make it part of our first ever Virtual Christmas Program! We're hosting the program from Dec. 22 to 26, and we'd like your submissions by Dec. 14. So, grab your phone or camera, and record one of your rehearsals, and send the video to us. If your group has been blessed with talent, please share it with us! It'll be a great blessing to those who live far from the body of The Church and who won't get to attend a program this year.
