Announcing the 2014 Summer Reading Challenge!
Last year's Summer Reading Challenge was so much fun, we're doing it again, and it starts on May 26, so mark your calendars!
We're taking things down a notch this time. Instead of trying to tackle the entire Bible in three months, we're going to read the whole Book of Mormon! The Book of Mormon is totally doable in 90 days. We've come up with a calendar that you can download and print.
We'll also include a reminder of the assigned daily chapters at the bottom of each blog post that appears during the challenge, just like last year.
If you want to join the challenge, please email us via our nifty contact form, or email us directly at TCOJCblog [at] gmail.com.
If you've never read through the whole Book of Mormon, now's your chance! Just think about it...
By June 5, you will have already read through 1 Nephi.
By June 30, you will have made it to Alma.
By August 3, you will have reached 3 Nephi.
The challenge ends on August 23, and you will have read through the entire book!
The Book of Mormon holds many beautiful passages and pearls of wisdom. From Lehi's dream to King Benjamin's address to the Brother of Jared's adventures, it is full of God's promises to Israel, and there are so many life lessons that we can apply to our own lives.
So, put down that magazine. Turn off the tube. Set aside your smartphone. If you have time to be entertained, then you have time to be inspired!
We want to know how many people are participating, so if you plan to join the challenge, please email us via the online contact form, or email us directly at TCOJCblog [at] gmail.com.
At the end of the challenge, we'll throw all the participants' names in a hat and give away some prizes — just for fun. The real reward is the reading itself. When we read God's word, He can communicate with us and teach us, and we can grow closer to Him and live richer lives filled with meaning and purpose.
Are you in?!
