A Timely Answer to Prayer
Today, we're sharing a testimony from a contributor who asked to remain anonymous. We hope it is a blessing to you.
Due to an illness, my driving privileges were limited. Knowing this, a sister volunteered to drive me to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and other places. This was a blessing to me. After some time, she was unable to continue this service. I began praying, asking the Lord to provide someone to help me with these tasks.
My family worked, as did most of the other branch sisters. One evening, two deaconesses visited me, and as we held hands, one of the sisters offered prayer. We hugged each other, and then one of the sisters said to me, "Sister, if you need anyone to take you to the doctor or to buy groceries, I would be happy to do that for you."
I immediately hugged her and said, "You are an answer to my prayer." I told her I had been praying for the Lord to provide someone to help me. How can we sufficiently thank and praise Him for His mercies, which are so great?
God surely knows what we need when we need it, and He moves on other people to meet those needs. This experience reminds us of another experience had by a sister from the Irvine Branch.
I needed to sell my 13-year-old minivan. I'd never sold a vehicle before or listed one for sale, and I was nervous about getting "taken." My husband can no longer help me with decisions, as he has dementia, so I turned to the Lord and prayed about it.
A few weeks later, I came home and there was a note on the van's window from someone offering to buy it. I hadn't put any signs on the van saying it was for sale. The note came completely out of the blue. I called the man, and he bought my van! There's no doubt God hears our smallest prayers.
