A Loose Society
Consider well that the intimate joy of love that God intended husband and wife to share is an ingredient that helps hold the marriage together. Any intimate contact outside of the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman is sin, be it fornication or adultery.
It was the sexual revolution of the '60s and '70s that lowered the moral standards of our nation: no-fault divorce, casual sex, abortion, pornography... The populace began its tolerance of the many moral violations — a little leaven leavens the whole lump — and from tolerance to acceptance and from acceptance to protection by the law of the land. Such a debased condition brings humanity into the depths of human defilement. Aberrant lifestyles are looked upon with praise and protection. There are no shades of grey in the Word of God.
Humanity's unbridled, hedonistic lust has led to the whoredoms and debauchery that prevail in our society and that are now protected by the corrupt laws of the land. This nation has desecrated the God-given foundation principle of marriage that the Lord designed for happiness and procreation. Sound doctrine and moral righteousness has been cast aside for sin's destructive pleasure. What happens in Vegas is recorded in Heaven.
The nation must repent or these vile conditions will bring God's judgment: great and terrible will be that day.
In the face of a nation drunk with iniquity and whoredoms, the Lord God values and blesses chastity and marriage between a man and a woman. Although the devil has succeeded, through the fallen nature of humankind, to lower and defile our present morality, it is the responsibility of the saints of God to stand firm and immovable for the Word of God and the righteousness found therein.
Alma 57:27 says, "Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually."
Stand firm for the Lord our God!
