Spread the Good Word: Psalm 100:3

Today's Good Word reminds us of who we are — God's sheep, His followers, His beloved, protected flock. There are a million voices out there telling you the opposite. They are telling you that, instead of being one of God's sheep, you are actually God, the one in charge, the boss.

Spread the Good Word: 1 John 4:18

There's nothing to fear about Friday the 13th after reading a Good Word like today's. As fallen humans living in a fallen world, we can only experience a "fallen" type of love with each other on Earth. People are always going to disappoint us — and even scare us sometimes. It's only when we reach out to the Lord that we can experience perfect love, the kind that casts out fear.

Spread the Good Word: 1 Peter 5:7

If you're feeling like you're "on the outs" with God ... like you've fallen off His radar, like He's pressed pause on your prayers, like you don't matter to Him ... then let today's Good Word be a reminder that He cares about your cares.

Spread the Good Word: Luke 6:21

We pray that today's good word gives you comfort if you're weeping or hungering for something lost or out of reach. Know that better times are always ahead for those who believe in Jesus Christ — the life to come where toil and sorrow are no more.

Denial Ain't Just a River

Denial Ain't Just a River

Psalm 19:12-13, "Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression."

David starts verse 12 with a rhetorical question: Who can understand his errors? Answer: Very few people.

Nobody wants to admit when they’re wrong. It’s not in our DNA. It’s so much easier to blame others for our mistakes. Even from the beginning, Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent for their sins instead of taking ownership of them. From that day until now, we continue to play the blame game. We choose to break God’s laws and then act as if we haven’t done anything wrong at all.

Spread the Good Word: Psalm 19:7-9

So, after one week, do you agree with us that memory is muscle?

Are you trying to memorize Psalm 19:7-14 with us? If so, leave a comment below to show that you're in.

Today, we're including a free printable of the scripture graphics from this week. Print it out on cardstock or another type of heavy-weight paper, and the images should be about the size of a business card. Cut them out, and use them as flash cards to aid your memorization. Or stick them in your wallet or purse, and thumb through them in your downtime. Another idea: stick them in spots you look often (your keyboard, bathroom mirror, dashboard, fridge, etc.)

We hope you're enjoying these articles and that you're benefiting from the effort of placing God's word in your heart.

Spread the Good Word: Galatians 6:8

Whether you have the greenest of green thumbs or you can kill houseplants by just looking in their general direction, we are all planting spiritual seeds every day. We live in a sowing and reaping system, and that means we eat only what we plant.

Spread the Good Word: Proverbs 17:28

Here's a Good Word from the book of wisdom that we think is rather appropriate for April 1. We'll let it speak for itself — and take its advice by keeping today's post short and sweet.

Happy Birthday to You, Gospel Blog!

Like many women over the age of 29, we here at the Gospel Blog aren't that great at keeping track of our birthday — or blogoversary. But on March 5, 2012, we debuted our very first article, which just happened to be a showstopping Miracle Monday we got from Sister Cindy Hood. Sister Natalie Shawver (then Pezzenti), Brother Jerry Valenti, and Brother Ron Mazzeo all contributed articles for that first week. We're so happy that God has blessed our little efforts.

Spread the Good Word: 2 Nephi 9:18

Today's Good Word reminds us that if we're suffering in this life, it's only temporary. There is great joy to come, and, in the meantime, we can overcome the "shame" of our trials and troubles by realizing that, in suffering, we identify more fully with Jesus Christ our Savior.

Spread the Good Word: Phil. 4:13

If you don't have today's Good Word memorized — text and scripture reference — then commit it to memory today! What a great reminder in all areas of life, especially those areas where we're struggling to push through, stay the course, or be patient. We can't do it in our strength, so let's stop trying. Instead, let's ask God for His strength, and when we accomplish the goal, He gets the praise!

Spread the Good Word: Joshua 24:15

Today's Good Word is inspired by Wednesday's article. Every day, multiple times a day, we must ask ourselves if we're going to make choices that serve and honor God or the opposite. Let's let our actions reflect our faith!
