Mo' Money Miracles

Mo' Money Miracles

We hope you enjoyed the Virtual Christmas Program last week! Today, we're bringing our money-related Miracle Mondays to a close with testimonies from several sisters from around The Church.

Sister Cindy Bright

My husband and I were very young. He was new into the Air Force, and we had two small boys. I did not work — at least I did not get paid for my work. We had enough money to get by, but it really bothered me that I was not making an effort to give money towards my donation for the church. My husband, who is not a member, was the only one bringing in the income, so I wasn't sure how to approach this.

God Pays a Speeding Ticket

God Pays a Speeding Ticket

Today's money-related Miracle Monday is from Brother Jerry Valenti. Enjoy!

Over the years, God has routinely provided sufficient funds for our needs so my testimony of God's bounty is ongoing. However, there were a couple of occasions where I allowed myself to become disappointed regarding a financial setback and then God would step in and turn that disappointment into a blessing.

Paid in Full

Paid in Full

It's the most expensive time of the year, brothers and sisters! Today, we're sharing a money miracle from Brother Tim Scolaro, and we hope it brings you joy.

When my family was younger, like many other families with small children relying almost completely on a single income, we were struggling to make ends meet and trying to financially support the needs of The Church at the same time.

Divine Dollars

Divine Dollars

Today we're sharing a money-related miracle from the pages of the Detroit Branch 1 history. It's simple, but it speaks to how the Lord rewards good desire and that sometimes we need to just ask, remembering that He can provide anything, often in miraculous and immediate ways.

This is an experience given to Brother Antonio Molisani in the early 1920s when the saints of Detroit worked together to construct a church building on Hall and Devine Streets.

It's a Time of Miracles

It's a Time of Miracles

There's a dialogue in a favorite movie of mine from the late '80s that goes something like this:

Character 1: ... you better be right, because it looks like this last one is going to take a miracle.

Character 2: It's Christmas ... It's the time of miracles ...

This came to me as I was thinking about what to write for the blog as we enter the Christmas season. Although miracles take place every day, regardless of the time of year, there is one particular miracle that happened during the holidays when I was child, a miracle that I didn't understand very well until I was older and that had a lasting effect on our family.

Bills, Bills Go Away

Bills, Bills Go Away

Today, we're kicking off our month of money-related Miracle Mondays. Sister Megan Garcia relates this month's first experience.

My husband and I had been fortunate throughout our marriage never to have to live paycheck to paycheck. Money was faithfully put into a savings account, and bills were always paid at least a week before the due date. That was until my husband, our sole provider, unexpectedly lost his job. We immediately cut back where we could and took extra care to buy only necessities and at the lowest price we could find.

Death Is as Beautiful as Birth

Death Is as Beautiful as Birth

Today, we're sharing another death-related Miracle Monday from Sister Paula Hemmings.

When my father was first diagnosed with cancer, our family felt very optimistic that he would take his treatments and become cancer-free. We remained that way through two years of surgeries, chemo, and radiation treatments. You see, his cancer wasn't supposed to be the type that kills you. It should've remained topical, so we thought, "Dad can do this." However, as he entered into the third year of battling this dreadful disease, real concerns arose.

I won't get into the gruesomeness of the cancer, but eventually the doctors told my siblings and me that there was no more to be done. All treatments stopped, and they were giving him enough painkillers to make him comfortable.

A Serene Smile

A Serene Smile

Today, we're sharing two death-related Miracle Mondays, one from Brother Michael Zaino and another from Sister Vicki Osheka. Can you spot the link between the two?

Submitted by Brother Michael Zaino

When I was about 10 years old, Brother Tulio Pizzaia, Brother Bob Pizzaia's father, passed away. I had a hard time understanding what death was and what happens after death. In a dream, I saw Brother Tulio in a coffin. We passed by, looking at the body as we normally do at a wake. As I passed by Him, He looked at me and smiled. I woke up and understood that He was in a happier place. I understood that death wasn't the end, and I had peace after the dream.

I Came to See You

I Came to See You

Today's loss-related Miracle Monday is from Sister Enza Pusillo. We send special love to all of you who had to say goodbye to your parents earlier than you expected.

When I was 13, my father, Brother Sal Traina, passed away, and it rocked my world. As the oldest of his four daughters, I was also the most like him; we shared a love of books, history and the written word. He was my confidant, my friend, and I was lost and overwhelmed after he was gone.

Who would sit at the kitchen table and help me with my math? Who would ask me what book I was reading or answer my questions about anything and everything that made me curious?

Losing a Child

Losing a Child

Today, we're kicking off our November theme: death. Since we serve an awesome God, the experiences we'll share are more uplifting than not. Today's submission is from Sister Dienna Rogers.

I have known many people who have lost children at all ages, but I never fully understood the dramatic and profound impact of the grief they went through until I experienced it myself.

It is a feeling I don't even wish on my worst enemy.

That Girl in the Photo

That Girl in the Photo

Today is our last marriage-related Miracle Monday. Thank you to everyone who contributed their stories! Today we're hearing from Sister Tracey Cuerrier.

AJ was not yet a member of the church and attending the Windsor Ontario branch when he started praying that the Lord would provide him with a wife. Even though he wasn't a member, he had certain criteria in his request for a wife. She had to either be attending church or be a member — he wanted to be equally yoked.

In his prayers, he made a promise to the Lord that whatever woman God provided he would marry, and if he was to remain single that the Lord would give him strength to serve Him alone.

Proof Positive

Proof Positive

Today's marriage-related Miracle Monday is from Brother Kevin Murphy. As your Gospel Blog editor can personally attest, the inability to conceive a child with your beloved spouse is exquisitely painful, but it doesn't mean that God isn't in control. Read about His beautiful plan for the Murphys.

I pray this is an encouragement to anyone trying to have a child. My wife, Stacy, and I were trying so hard to have a child. It seemed like it wasn't going to happen. I thought perhaps it was due to the fact that I was much older than she (11 years). We certainly made it a matter of prayer as often as we found ourselves on our knees.

The Spotless Stain Miracle

The Spotless Stain Miracle

Last week, we shared a testimony from the Levittown Branch about how the wine spilled during the Lord's Supper and something most unexpected followed. Today, we're sharing a similar but different experience that happened in the mission field.
