Best of Miracle Monday: The Lost Lens Miracle

Today, we're kicking off the "Best of Miracle Monday" series. We're digging back in our archives for special experiences that we shared in the blog's early days so that those of you who weren't with us back then can experience them. Today, we're republishing "The Lost Lens Miracle" from April 2, 2012 submitted by Sister Melanie Suska.

One winter day in school, when I was around 10 years old, the bell rang at the end of the day, and I rushed outside to get to my mom's car.

Nothing to Fear

Nothing to Fear

Today, we're wrapping up the month with two beautiful anointing-related testimonies.

Submitted by Sister Rosanne Champine

In 2011, I discovered — and my doctor confirmed — a large tumor in my body. I was facing further tests, which caused me great concern. On a Sunday morning, I went before the ministry of the branch to be anointed. That day, a sister shared the following vision:

The Healing Power of Holy Oil

Today, we're bringing you two Miracle Monday experiences that display the power of anointing. Enjoy!

Submitted by Brother Fred Bartuccio

As a young boy of about 8 or 9 years old, I used to get tonsillitis very often, so much so that I was scheduled for surgery. The surgery date had been set and canceled a few times because every time it was set, my tonsils would become infected, and they couldn't proceed.

I Can't Find Anything

I Can't Find Anything

Just a reminder, this month's Miracle Monday theme is "anointing with oil." We hope this testimony by Sister Carmela Gray encourages you and increases your faith in God's healing power.

This account happened some 15 years ago or so. I had a mammogram on a Monday. Tuesday evening, I got a call from my doctor saying something showed up on the film, and he made an appointment for a biopsy on Thursday morning. He was very concerned.

Nothing to Shrug At

Nothing to Shrug At

We're continuing our June theme for Miracle Monday: anointing miracles. Today, we're sharing a testimony submitted by Sister Brianne Gehly.

The current job the Lord provided for me (see this blog article for the details) is a very physical job for a "short" woman. Although I may be a little on the short side, I consider myself a healthy and strong person, and I rarely get injured. My daily physical skills include cranking an X-ray machine into the back of a Chevy HHR, lifting heavy patients regularly, holding open doors while pushing and pulling heavy equipment, and dodging elderly people in wheelchairs.

Hey, It Works

Hey, It Works

Today is our first anointing-related Miracle Monday, and Brother Jerry Valenti submitted this testimony about the first time he ever anointed someone. Enjoy!

I was ordained into the ministry on September 7, 1986. The following weekend was our Area MBA Campout, which my wife Pat and I were planning to attend.

However, Pat had her four wisdom teeth extracted that Tuesday (at 9 a.m. — the receptionist said she was waiting all day to assign that appointment on 9/9 at 9!). Unfortunately, her recovery did not go as expected the next few days.

Bread of Heaven

Bread of Heaven

Today is our last communion-related Miracle Monday. A big thank you to Sister Dianne Maddox for sharing this one.

A few months ago on a Sunday morning at our branch in Lake Worth, Florida, another deaconess and I were confused over whose turn it was to bring the bread for communion that day. Neither of us had brought it.

As we stood in the kitchen of the church building, we looked at each other in panic and disbelief. The communion table was supposed to be set within the next 15 minutes. Within a few moments, a brother came into the kitchen and asked us what was wrong. We explained the situation.

Kasey the Kinderbot

Kasey the Kinderbot

My daughter Maria has a best friend — her toy robot Kasey the Kinderbot. Many a night in our house is filled with Kasey's beeps and boops and the sound of Maria singing along with Kasey.

I should point out that Maria is autistic and also mentally challenged, so even though she is now a teenager, she is very much like a child, and she still enjoys many of the same toys she's had since she was a small child, many of which — like Kasey — are no longer even sold in stores.

In the summer, Maria's favorite thing to do is to go in our swimming pool. She loves it so much that we have to remember to keep the back door locked or else she'll run outside and jump in the pool, clothes and all. One day last summer, we forgot to lock the door, and when I saw the door standing open, I knew where I would find Maria.

Miracles at the Communion Table

Miracles at the Communion Table

Today, we've got two communion-themed Miracle Mondays for you!

Submitted by Sister Teri-Lyn Tunno on behalf of her branch

Brother Paul Palmieri: I have been a minister since 1967 and have passed communion many times, but on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, I was blessed with a wonderful experience during communion.

Brother John Mark D'Antonio and I were at the communion table enjoying the Spirit of God and feeling His presence. We were talking about the precious blood of Christ, and I went to pick up the crucible of wine. As I went to lift it up, my hand fell back down. I ... could ... not ... lift ... it ... up.

Well Pleased

Today's Miracle Monday is used by permission of the True Stories Publication Committee, and it's the experience of Brother Darrell Rossi. We actually don't have any more communion-related Miracle Mondays to publish for the rest of the month, so if you have one, please send it in ASAP!

His Blood Never Runs Short

His Blood Never Runs Short

Today, we're kicking off our Miracle Monday theme for May: communion. Thank you, Sister Carolyn Griffith for sharing this most beautiful testimony!

Our branch, Forest Hills, Florida, was in the process of constructing a new church building. We were meeting in a rented facility, and our space for storing sacrament supplies was very limited.

One particular Sunday, as I was preparing the wine and bread for communion, I realized we didn't have very much wine and felt concerned there would not be enough. I felt if I could fill two full glasses of wine, there probably would be enough for the service. I was able to pour one glass full but the second glass only half.

One Small Miracle After Another

One Small Miracle After Another

Today's blog was submitted by Brother George Katsaras for the April Miracle Monday theme, and it goes really well with the experiences we shared yesterday. After you read it, we've got a question to ask you at the end.

My life is one small miracle after another. So many times throughout the day, I need to call on the Lord to help me, from finding my keys to getting a parking spot. When I pull into a crowded parking lot, I ask God, and almost immediately someone pulls out right in front of me. This might not be important to others, but when walking is difficult, finding a parking spot near my destination is major!

Everyday Miracles That Matter

Everyday Miracles That Matter

Today is our last day of miscellaneous Miracle Mondays, and we're sharing two experiences from Sister Teresa Pandone.

Experience 1

I wear eyeglasses, and sometimes I remove them, hook them on my blouse, and continue with my task.

One day, as I was doing yard work, I did this and continued bending over and picking up weeds and raking the grass in the yard. After some time, I noticed my glasses were not where I placed them. I searched all over and could not find them. I became quite anxious because I need them to read and drive.

As the anxiety accelerated, I began to pray and ask God to please help me locate them. I continued to search the yard again, praying all the while.

Suddenly, I had the thought to look into the barrel where I was placing all of the weeds and trash from the yard. I removed everything that I had put into that barrel, and at the bottom, I found my glasses. I began to thank and praise God for His message to me. God is so good, even in my everyday problems.

He Is Already There

He Is Already There

Today's Miracle Monday is from Sister Enza Pusillo. We hope it touches your heart.

As a young woman, just barely 30, I was told that I had a condition called endometriosis. This condition makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to conceive and sometimes carry children to term. Many women require extensive treatment and even surgery in order to do so. They said the older I got, the more difficult it would become.

Now, you have to imagine what news like this meant to me at the time. I was not married — not close to getting married at that point in my life — yet the one thing I had dreamed of and desired more than anything was to be a mother and have children. I had more than my share of fears and questions. So, I put my trust in God.

Blind Encounters

Blind Encounters

Today's Miracle Monday is from Sister Marty Jumper.

This is a testimony that tells how a little thing in my life was important to the Lord.

It was just before Christmas, and I was cleaning my house in preparation for family coming to stay with me for a holiday visit. There were so many things to get done, and I only had that day off to finish everything.
