Blessings in Dominica

Blessed Bite

Today, we're kicking off our March Miracle Monday theme, which is fasting and/or prayer. We could still use a few experiences to finish out the rest of the month, so if you have an experience that involves fasting and/or prayer, please share it with us! Today's experience is from Sister Betty D'Orazio.

Peter's One-Eighty

Peter's One-Eighty

A few Sundays ago, our minister preached about the Apostle Peter. Have you ever given Peter much thought? A lot of people have. He's one of the more popular apostles to study because he's so likeable. Brash, rash, quick to act, slow to think, Peter reminds us a lot of us.

I Say vs. What God Says

We discussed this in my branch a few weeks back. The next time you're tempted to say any of the things below, remember what God has already said to you.

Miraculous Healing

Miraculous Healing

Today, we're sharing a powerful testimony sent to us by Brother Kevin Murphy. This is in regard to a recent miracle that happened in the Southeast Region.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 during anointing, we had a brother approach the ministry using a cane. This brother has been suffering from knee issues for a very long time. He has been through a couple of surgeries with no relief. Although he had been anointed for this injury before, he felt to be anointed again.

The Good Lord Floats a Boat

The Good Lord Floats a Boat

With all the hype surrounding the upcoming film "Noah," I wonder how many people are going to dig into scripture to get the true scoop on this godly man. Since Noah adaptations are apparently à la mode, I decided to make my own Seuss-ian retelling of Genesis 6 to 9.

When God's Directions Don't Make Sense

When God's Directions Don't Make Sense

When God commands us to do something, there may be a feeling of doubt as to how the task will be accomplished. It may appear impossible, but scripture tells a different story.

All of us know the famous verse of Paul's, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This verse alone should bring confidence that, through Jesus, all things can be done.

True Confessions of a Planner

True Confessions of a Planner

I wish I could be more of a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants, spontaneous person, but alas, I'm a planner. When I was in high school, I planned on going to college, meeting the man of my dreams, and being married by 21 — 23 at the latest — and being done having kids by my late 20s.

(Obviously, God's plan for me was completely different than mine.)

Puppy Love

Puppy Love

We hope you enjoyed last week's Valentine's series. It's still February, and we're continuing with animal-related testimonies and experiences. Here's one from Sister KarenJo Pandone.

When we adopted our dogs, they were 7 weeks old and paper trained, which was nice since it was November in Michigan. Buster, one of the puppies, had a habit of shredding things, paper, toys, etc. My husband, Michael, was very patient with him.

Marrying Outside The Church

Marrying Outside The Church

We're shifting gears back to you marrieds today. May this topic be thought-provoking.

I've been having what feels like the same conversation with different people about this, so I felt I should share it with you.

Growing up, I always thought that the man I married would already be a member of The Church or at least would convert before we got married, just as my grandfather and father had done. I felt that was expected of me.

Living the Single Life for God

Living the Single Life for God

For today's article, we're focusing back on the singles. Enjoy!

Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching! This invokes one of two feelings: pure excitement (usually for girls and women in a relationship/marriage) and misery (for those who are single and, let's face it, some men.) It's a day every year when we're forced to evaluate our love lives, no matter how nonexistent.
